| MSEE Finally done! Now I just have to decide whether to attend my graduation or to go on my honeymoon. | | |
| I had an interesting night. I went with my mom to her fundraiser dinner for some Chinese guy who's running to be on the school board. Apparently, her folk dance club is supporting him. Okay, so I was my mom's date and when we get there, I meet other people from her club. One couple that I met used to know me when I was little because I used to carpool with their daughter Helen to Chinese School. I chat with them a bit and find out that their daughter is still single and in need of a boyfriend. Her mom asks me if I know anyone. I immediately thought of TJ, Shaun, Anton, etc., but I decide to say no. Their daughter is also now going to a medical college in Wisconsin. I don't know why it didn't occur to me at that moment, but it did come to me eventually later that night as I was driving home. I was thinking about this couple, the Chang family. Then I thought wow, I know two Helen Changs...they're both from Diamond Bar...they both go to Med school in Wisconsin? Wait a minute!!! &$*$%&@!! I know this Helen Chang! It's weird to know that this girl whom I became friends with after college is the same girl I used to carpool with almost 20 years ago. I even have embarrassing memories of her...hehe. Crazy... This also means that our parents are both folk dance fanatics in the same dance club. Small world. On a totally separate note, I'm going back to Korea again in November. That would mean for this year I will have gone to Korea 3 times, China once, Vancouver 2 times, Seattle twice, Arizona twice, and then San Diego and San Jose/SF. I think the only month that I haven't had to travel by plane this year was January. If anyone wants anything from Korea, lemme know. Anyone gonna be in Korea around November? | | |
| If you know me at all, you'll understand that the plot for this new movie is a little bit too familiar for me. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809731857/info kathleentse: did the studio execs ask you if they could get the rights to your life story? | | |
| I am now wasting my life away at Vancouver Airport. I've been in Vancouver for the last two days and now I'm waiting for my flight back which has been delayed over 2 hours. At this rate, I should be home around 2am plus I have to go to work tomorrow morning. Lovely. The joys of traveling. Bah!!! Anyhow, I'm trying to maintain a good attitude because that is what my book Saving your Marriage Before it Starts is telling me. Chapter 3..."Have you developed the Habit of Happiness?" No. What does make me happy though is I got my first article published! It's the cover article in the May issue of Microwaves and RF Magazine. In case anyone's interested, you can see it online: http://www.mwrf.com/Issues/IssueID/578/578.html

| Special Mother's Day post. When I was in college and even after I graduated, occasionally I would come home on the weekends to visit. Once in a while on a saturday morning, my mom would come into my room while I was sleeping, she'd sit on my bed, stare at my face for a while, then rub my cheeks and then she'd leave. Yesterday, she did something different. She came into my room and put her palm against the bottom of my foot and then she rubbed it and left. I was talking to Connie and apparently her mom does the same thing! Well, not the foot rubbing, but the whole stare at your face when your sleeping and then caressing your face. So is this pretty normal with moms...kind of like a "my baby's all grown up now" kind of thing? I always thought my mom was just crazy. Funny, I can imagine Rachel doing this to Sophie...hehe. Yong...not so much. | | |
